Sapphire was founded on a simple belief: financial strategy isn’t just support — it’s leverage. Finance should serve as a growth catalyst accessible to every ambitious founder. Throughout my career in executive finance roles, I’ve seen a consistent pattern: many startups excel in product and vision but struggle with financial infrastructure, cash flow, and fundraising or exit strategies. Too often, visionary founders lack a financial roadmap.

Early-stage teams frequently view finance as a reporting function — a rear-view mirror — rather than a strategic engine for decision-making. They operate without integrated forecasting, cash visibility, or investor-ready narratives.

Numbers tell a story, but most founders have never been taught how to read it. I wanted to build a model that transforms finance from compliance to confidence — aligning numbers, narrative, and strategy, and structuring financials to tell the true story behind growth.

Heather Hall is an accomplished C-level finance leader with over three decades of experience across financial services, SaaS, and multiple tech-enabled sectors, spanning public companies, private enterprises, and startups.

​

She excels at building scalable financial infrastructure, aligning strategy with business goals, and leading high-impact, cross-functional teams through every stage of growth, from pre-seed to exit. Her expertise encompasses data-driven decision-making, performance optimization, and strategic planning.

​

Before founding Sapphire CFO Solutions, Heather was the CFO of AECIQ, a high-growth HRtech firm in the AEC space, and was instrumental in facilitating a successful exit to a strategic buyer. Previously, she served as Managing Director and CAO at InspereX Technologies, formed through the merger of Incapital and 280 CapMarkets — a fintech startup she co-founded and led as CFO and Head of HR, pioneering transparency in the bond market through data and technology.

Earlier in her career, she held senior finance roles at PwC, UBS, Franklin Templeton, and WHV Investments. She currently serves on the boards of Third Economy, a leading ESG consulting firm, and its related company, VIAlab, a sustainability-focused fintech startup.

​

Heather is a licensed CPA (California), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and a FINRA-licensed Financial and Operations Principal (Series 27). She has a B.A. in Anthropology from Princeton University and an M.Sc. in Accountancy from San Diego State University. Heather also received a Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis from The Wharton School of Business, furthering her skills in performance forecasting, strategic and financial modeling, and value creation.
